ERP Solution Architect

The ERP Solution Architect is responsible for shaping and governing the end-to-end solution design of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) template across key compañía domains, including production, master planning, warehousing, trade, and finance.
This role partners closely with compañía architecture leadership and operates within the program governance structure, ensuring a harmonised, scalable, and sustainable ERP solution across multiple countries and entities.
The position combines senior-level solution architecture responsibilities with hands-on functional business analysis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Govern the overall D365 F&O solution architecture, ensuring scalability, consistency, and alignment with business strategy.
  • Lead the design, development, and governance of the core D365 F&O template.
  • Define and validate cross-domain solutions across production, planning, warehousing, logistics, procurement, sales, and finance.
  • Translate business requirements into a unified and standardised application architecture.
  • Drive key architectural decisions, balancing business value, feasibility, and long-term sustainability.
  • Conduct functional deep dives, FIT/GAP analyses, and design reviews, including data models and integrations.
  • Provide hands-on support in complex functional areas, guiding business analysts and key users through workshops, testing, and solution validation.
  • Ensure template adherence during rollouts, while managing and validating justified local deviations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment across design, development, and testing phases.
  • Mentor and support the development of internal ERP capabilities within the team.
  • Ensure solution quality by reviewing functional designs, configurations, testing scope, and rollout readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement, simplification, and optimisation of the ERP solution, including transition to support and hypercare phases.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or Dynamics AX (AX2012/AX2009) in production or trade environments.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect in medium to large, preferably multi-country ERP programs.
  • Strong functional expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Production and shop floor execution
    • Master Planning (MRP, forecasting)
    • Advanced Warehousing
    • Trade, logistics, and inventory management
  • In-depth knowledge of D365 F&O architecture, integrations, data entities, and extension patterns.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including business process owners, business analysts, developers, and implementation partners.
  • Strong analytical and solution design capabilities, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable system designs.
  • Proven ability to review and validate functional and technical deliverables (e.g., solution designs, configurations, integrations).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across operational and executive levels.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to operate within structured program governance environments.
  • Experience mentoring and developing internal team members.
  • Resilient, pragmatic, and solution-oriented, with the ability to perform effectively in dynamic and international environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power Platform and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with MES/WMS integrations.
  • Exposure to template governance models and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Experience in presales or solution shaping activities.
