Java Backend Engineer in Málaga

We are currently looking for a Backend Engineer to join a dynamic team working on innovative projects in Store Layout Management—a business area focused on optimizing store design and product placement for millions of customers. This role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge projects in an international environment hile enjoying the flexibility and creativity of a tech-driven culture.


  • Location: Málaga, Spain (Hybrid: on site once per week)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Sector: Digital Retail & Technology


What will be your duties and responsibilities?
  • Work cross-functionally in an agile product tema on Google Cloud Platform (serverless).
  • Design, program, perform QA, and document code with a backend focus.
  • Plan architectures and contribute your ideas to improve solutions.
  • Analyze requirements and participate in system design and programming.
  • Configure and deploy systems with corresponding tools.


What are the main requirements?
  • Degree in Computer Science or 4–5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong experience in SQL and Java.
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing and messaging systems (Kafka, JMS, MQ).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Microservices and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to explore new languages and frameworks (e.g., Kotlin, Quarkus).
  • Full fluency in English.
