Google Cloud Engineer in Málaga

At HAYS, a British multinational company that offers recruitment and human resources services in 33 countries worldwide and is listed on the London Stock Exchange, we are currently looking for a Google Cloud Platforms Engineer.


We are collaborating with one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 400,000 employees and over 2,000 IT specialists who set standards for IT implementation and development of new technologies for the retail industry.


The Google Cloud Platforms Engineer will be part of a team that will work with members of Spain and Germany, which is responsible for a customer data platform which consolidates data from marketing data sources and prepares the data for activation in different marketing channels.


What are the requirements for this position?


  • Over 5 years of Python programming experience
  • Knowledge of google cloud platforms (GCP) and willingness to continue growing in this area
  • Experience using version control (GIT), software development, Kafka /PubSub and Docker
  • Knowledge of Terraform
  • Experience using Apache Beam with Dataflow
  • Interest or experience in being part of agile teams (Scrum)
  • Agile mindset
  • Knowledge of Clean code principles
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English.


Which are the main tasks?


  • As part of the team, you are responsible to maintain and extend their customer data platform based on different
    GCP servicies (e.g. Dataflow, Cloud Functions). The platform development is based on Python and Terraform.
  • Furthermore you will work with SQL related technologies lije Google BigQuery and Snowflake.
  • Design, programming, unit-testing (Pytest), quality assurance and documentation
  • Code responsibility from the very beginning until production environment
  • Work closely together in an agile team with members located in Germany and Spain (team language will be
    English).
