Treasury risk specialist

Position: Treasury risk specialist

Location: Barcelona

Summary Treasury risk specialist assess how the financial department manages financial resources and advise other teams on managing financial risks. They also play a crucial role in reducing exposure to the financial threats associated with market volatility, changes in interest rates, liquidity risk, and credit infrastructure. Treasurers mainly do this by assessing the potential costs of specific scenarios and consequent steps that should be taken. The processes that treasurers set up help ensure that sound decisions are taken while protecting business from unnecessary losses.

Main Functions:

  • Spot and tackle types of treasury risks that the Company might face.
  • Develop strategies to reduce treasury risk.
  • Develop risk management frameworks and processes.
  • Regularly check liquidity positions and participate in cash flow forecasts.
  • Work with treasury TL to maintain and rationalize the company’s choice of key global banks including the analysis of bank fee structures, services, relationships, credit levels and counterparty credit quality/exposure.
  • Regular study of relevant market risks, including monitoring of banks and payments systems updates, news, etc.
  • Make sure that declared financial information at a set up stage is updated and communicated regularly. Assist in maintaining banking records and legal documentation.
  • Act as a treasury liaison with the company’s business units in
  • setting up new banking accounts, services, and handling bank
  • inquiries and related matters to ensure compliance with
  • internal risk policies
  • Implement FX exposure strategies, including possible ones with implementation of an FX exposure management tool.
  • Assist other departments (e.g. audit, accounting) with quarter-end and ad-hoc information requests as needed.
  • We seek experience managing financial risks and managing analysis and forecasting to mitigate possible timing. Knowledge working with banks in Spain and abroad. Knowledge in the regulations and processes of these.

Requirements:

Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Banking.
English C1 / Valuable Spanish
At least 5 years' experience in a similar position
